Join us for Solo Exhibition for Artist & Activist Zainab Zeb Khan- June 6th

Zainab Khan (Zaina Zeb) is an artist and human rights activist. She is well known for being one of the nine activists featured in the Honor Diaries documentary which breaks the silence of honor violence and is a movement to promote women's rights in the Middle East. She has appeared in various networks including Fox News to discuss issues such as child marriages and Female Genital Mutilation ( FGM).

In her words"...Social justice, education equality, female empowerment - these are ideals that fuel my faith as a visual artist. My art is intensely meaningful to me - it expresses the turmoil and injustices I have seen in the world. But it also expresses the hopes and dreams I have for the world that could be: a world where women of all geographic locations, cultures and religions can find the freedom of their own unique voice, without being censored, silenced or subjugated...Art is a powerful tool to lobby for change and address social justice issues . It opens the door to implement change through a different lens. Art is not just about communication. It connects us, imprints itself into our souls and resonates with our memories. This ultimately influences how we behave. Art itself becomes an action item. Through persistence and power, we can learn to transform personal pain into collective gain, and bring unique solutions to pressing situations.
